January: Sankajo waza
third control techniques

 

Third control is applied to uke’s wrist, elbow, and shoulder. In order to apply third control,
you must make sure that uke’s elbow is bent in an "L" shape. This technique can be
applied from either a standing or kneeling position, and in response to many different
attacks such as front strike, side strike, punching, or grabbing...etc.

Main points to study

1

Your whole body must move together when applying this technique; do not just move your hands and feet separately.

2 You must make sure your hips and feet are stable in order to control uke.
