February: Yonkajo waza
fourth control techniques

This technique uses the base of the index finger to apply pressure to uke’s inner
wrist area (nerve line) to bring uke off-balance. This technique can be applied
from either a standing or kneeling position, and in response to many different
attacks such as front strike, side strike, punching, or grabbing...etc.

Main points to study

1

Do not use hand strength to apply this technique.

2 In order to make the control secure, grasp uke’s wrist more with your little finger, and make sure uke’s elbow stays bent.
